Under the direction of the Director of Organizational Development and Community Health Education, the Community Health Education Specialist assesses individual, organizational and community needs for health education and works collaboratively in the implementation, management and evaluation of health education strategies, interventions and programs to improve the quality of life and health outcomes of the diverse populations in the PCRMC service area. Core duties include grant writing and project management to sustain Community Health programs. Serves as a health education resource person. Builds and strengthens partnerships with local health leaders, schools, and community groups to define health promotion goals, establish objectives, and determine program priorities and evaluation criteria. Identify, define and develop funding sources and support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinate the development, writing, collecting, analyzing and reporting of data on the performance of program activities that are funded through third:party public and private sources. Performs related work as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Current Nursing licensureand Masters degree preferred with at least 3:5 years experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Working knowledge of current trends and developments in community health programs. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate health education and health promotion programs for diverse populations. Ability to prepare surveys and statistical reports. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from diverse individuals, community groups and the general public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders. Proven record of successfully obtaining grant funding sources. Possess and maintain a validMissouridrivers license. Must have access to a private vehicle for on:the:job use.

Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing required. Masters in related field preferred. Advanced Microsoft program knowledge including Word, Power Point and Excel required.

Experience: 3 to 5 years experience in the hospital or clinic environment.

Mental/Physical Requirements: (May be met with appropriate accommodations if deemed necessary): Considerable mental concentration on various projects and assignments. Standing, walking, sitting, lifting. Ability to concentrate, pay close attention to detail and perform job duties under time restrictions. Some traveling is required.

Working Conditions: Excellent verbal/written communication skills. A
